Elana has been an Economic Development professional for more than 20 years. In her current position as the Pier Administrator with the City of Santa Monica, she is directly involved in overseeing operations, asset management, capital project planning, and policy development for the Santa Monica Pier, an iconic and historic community resource. She began her tenure with the City in 2001 serving as Senior Administrative Analyst and Senior Development Analyst working on many public-private partnerships in downtown Santa Monica and the Pier. Prior to that, she was a Development Analyst with the City of West Hollywood where she worked closely with businesses and community groups on a variety of programs including commercial and residential façade improvement loans, redevelopment of brownfields, business improvement district administration, and business attraction and retention programs. Elana holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and International Relations and master’s degrees in Urban Planning (MPL) and Public Administration (MPA) from USC. She is a former president of the USC chapter of Omega Delta Epsilon (ODE), the international honor society in the field of economics.
