Class of ’95

Deborah, as Vice President at Toyota Motor North America, was responsible for North America Business Planning, and held numerous other positions leading marketing, brand, and product strategy for Lexus, Toyota, and Scion.  After 20 years with Toyota Motor North America during which she was nominated for the Automotive Hall of Fame Young Leadership and Excellence Award, she returned to her long-held passion for advancing the economic well-being of women. She started a consulting practice performing strategic planning, marketing, and research primarily for nonprofit organizations and she has served on a number of boards related to international development and refugees including iACT, Relief International, and UPenn’s Nonprofit Leadership Governance Committee.  Her work has been recognized with awards in social impact and corporate citizenship, and she recently received certification for teaching English as a foreign language following a three-month program in Morocco.  She holds a PhD and MA in economics from USC, an MS in Nonprofit/NGO Leadership and Social Innovation from UPenn, and a BA in economics and history from UC Berkeley.
