Founded in 2018, our intended outcome is to increase the representation of women in the field of economics by supporting their leadership development and career aspirations.  A primary focus is to engage young women studying economics as well as those not yet in the pipeline and give them access to role models who excel in a variety of professions and sectors.  Alumnae, collaborating with faculty and students, lead evidence-based interventions guided by personalized student interest.  At semi-annual Panel Discussion and Networking Events and monthly alumni/student Fireside Chats, they share their insights on career options and skills needed to succeed.  In personal mentoring relationships, they help students explore the field and opportunities open to them, and close personal relationships frequently develop. To maintain and enhance relationships with one another, Women in Economics sponsor programs and special events to promote networking and create space to share female perspectives on important economic issues.
